The Campaign

 

Following on from their other hugely successful gamified Messenger Bot competitions run through EchoMany, Pizza Express decided that their Christmas campaign should be no different!

 

Customers were made aware of the campaign via printed flyers in-restaurant – each with a scannable Messenger QR code – as well as e-marketing campaigns linking customers to their Facebook Messenger profile. A simple chat/game entertained customers whilst they waited for their meals or drove subscribers to their Facebook page, and in exchange gave them the chance to win instant freebies, or enter a larger competition for a years’ supply of Pizza Express!

How It Worked

As well as a marketing e-mail sent to all Pizza Express subscribers, diners in-restaurant were invited to get involved with their Christmas competition & giveaway via printed flyers with scannable QR Messenger codes linking directly to the ChatBot.

After answering a few simple questions, users are shown a video where a Santa Dough Ball is asking for their help to find the mischievous Dough Ball Elves, which have gone missing. Users run through a carousel of images to select where they want to check.

The bot then delivers back responses and Gifs depending on their selection, informing them whether they’re a winner of the instant win challenge or not. In the background, EchoMany is rendering a personalised video, which includes the users name.

These personalised videos are delivered back natively within Messenger, along with the links required to claim and download their vouchers for instant-win freebies and the entry form to the larger competition for a year’s supply of Pizza Express

Users are also invited to upload a selfie, which may later be selected by Pizza Express to receive a special Christmas themed frame and be shared on their Facebook page.
