The Campaign


To promote the release of their upcoming Liam Neeson action-thriller ‘The Commuter’, StudioCanal partnered with Odeon & EchoMany to run a Retweet to Remind campaign on Twitter.

How It Worked

@WChannel’s social media team put out a Call to Action post, which promised a personalised video reply from Liam Neeson, entry information to a competition and a reminder notification for the movie’s release if Retweeted.

Users Retweeted the Call to Action, spreading the campaign further to their own followers. They would then also automatically receive a personalised EchoMany video reply. This simply took their name, ran it through our proprietary name-whitelisting moderation tool and dynamically embedded it into a video.

Days later, @StudioCanalUK sent out a follow up “reminder” message to the subscribers. This included information about a competition to win an Odeon Limitless card, as well as links to purchase cinema tickets, as well as their personalised video.

The first few frames of this personalised video included the users’ name flipping down, as though it had appeared on an overhead departures board in a train station – and then continued into a clip of Liam Neeson explaining the competition entry methods.
