Breast Cancer Now run their annual “Wear It Pink” day every October, raising over £30m in the 15 years’ since the first event and cementing it as one of the biggest fundraising events of the year. Fundraisers host bake sales, compete in challenges and more, with the key to the campaign being that ‘On October 20th, We Wear Pink”.
EchoMany was delighted to help amplify awareness and show thanks to the thousands of fundraisers across the UK who had engaged with @BreastCancerNow on Twitter, particularly those uploading great UGC such as selfies of their pink outfits.
How It Worked
@BreastCancerNow’s social media team logs into the online EchoMany Platform Dashboard, which links into their official Twitter account via API
Tweets with the #WearItPink hashtag are automatically pulled through to the dashboard via live-stream or advanced search.
@BreastCanceNow’s social media team hand selects which Tweets they want to receive a “Thank You!”, and generate their personalised EchoMany reply live and in real time
@BreastCancerNow had a choice of either a simple personalised GIF or a more complex personalised video. Each video includes the users’ profile picture, name and uploaded selfie, whereas GIFs only include the users name. EchoMany then automatically sends the video from the platform dashboard as a native Twitter reply.
